During the initial concept phase I kept getting ideas for characters and little stories popping into my head.

After chatting them through with Graham we decided to follow the creative flow and see where they took us… So, I embraced the idea of a family of water dragons living in a loch in front of the castle, nymphs playing in the waterfall pools, magical deer roaming through the forest and, much, much more. Over time the world and castle grew and grew as I fully indulged my fantasy of living in a fairytale castle nestled deep in an enchanted woodland!

I hadn’t worked like this since the art projects I did at school and I was thoroughly enjoying it. The more I explored, the more ideas I seemed to have. A very dear artist friend of mine once told me that “creativity is like a muscle - you have to exercise it to strengthen it”. I loved this sentiment when she said it to me many moons ago, but I think I only now truly understand it.

This is how the project evolved from a simple drone sequence into a multi episode series of short stories.
